Forest Crackle Raku Urn
The Forest Crackle Raku Cremation urn is professionally hand-crafted using the ancient Japenese Raku firing process. When the clay is still wet, it is impressed with leaves and plants from the forest, covered with a crackle glaze, and then Raku fired. The size and contemporary design makes this a versatile decorative piece of ceramic memorial art that will fit in any home.
The process of Raku firing differs from other firing methods because the pots are removed from the kiln at their maximum temperature and placed on a bed of leaves or straw. The leaves or straw burst into flame and the container is closed. The smoke, flames, and oxygen deprived atmosphere create the unique colors and textures of Raku. This and other ancient methods allows us to offer 9 basic finishes.

The Raku expert will re-produce an urn similar to your choice of color. Sometimes, we have Raku urns in stock.
