This Simple Elegant Raku Urn (shown in Dolphin Blue) is professionally hand-crafted using the ancient Japenese Raku firing process. Its glazed surface shows the unique colors and textures of Raku. The contemporary design of this ceramic memorial art urn easily blends with the decor of your home.

The process of  Raku firing differs from other firing methods because the pots are removed from the kiln at their maximum temperature and placed in a bed of straw, leaves, or other organic material.  The organic material immediately bursts into flame, the container is sealed, and the lack of oxygen transforms the glazed surface to the unique colors and textures of Raku.  This and other ancient processes allows us to offer nine basic finishes. Please click on the gray tab titled Detailed Images to review the available basic colors.

Please note that each Raku urn is a totally unique piece of art; no two will ever be alike. The Raku artisan will produce an urn similar to your choice of color. Sometimes, we have Raku urns in stock.  Please call us if you would like a photo of currently available Raku urns with one of the colors you select.

This beautiful urn is available in several different sizes to suit your needs.

Standard (180 cubic inches)

As these are custom works of hand-crafted art, please allow 3-6 weeks before your urn is shipped.  We have a special relationship with our artist and many times we can arrange shipping sooner. If you need an urn for a specific date it is best to contact us so we can work with you and the artist.

Ground shipping is always free and takes from 1 - 6 business days for delivery after the urn ships, depending on your location from Washington State.

You may be wondering about the lids. Some people choose to leave the lid unsealed as the ashes should always be kept in a sealed plastic bag. However, many choose to seal the lid. Please Click on Ceramic and Marble Sealing Instructions Here.
